6 minute TED Talk on predicting success.  One thing stands out: Grit.

Some very pertinent points that link directly to changing careers:

• The most significant predictor of success is “Grit”. This combines passion and perseverance.
• “We have to be willing to fail, to be wrong, to start over again with lessons learned.”
• “Failure is not a permanent condition.”

Well worth watching.
